MEET
JEFF KNOLL

Jeff Knoll is present in everyday community life in a way that most politicians are not, both as a councillor and owner of Film.ca. Jeff has been protecting our town both as Chair of the Halton Police Services board, keeping us as one of the safest communities in Canada, and as a councillor fighting to make sure that population growth and new development respect the character of our town.

JEFF'S PRIORITIES

We are proud of our town and our community and we want to protect our character, but Oakville is facing new risks and we need to adapt to them. We are facing population growth, new challenges to public safety, and high taxes and cost of living. We can control our destiny and make sure that future generations can experience the safe and livable Oakville we all love.

Community Safety & Public Order

Oakville has earned its reputation as a safe community, but crime is appearing in neighbourhoods where residents never worried before. Jeff is Chair of the Halton Police Board and has served on it for over a decade. He works with police every day to support strong policing and prevention. As Mayor, Jeff will bring proven leadership, practical ideas, and a commitment to Protect Our Town and keep residents safe.

PROTECTING YOUR TAX DOLLARS

Property taxes keep rising, and families deserve value for every dollar. Jeff has voted on every Town of Oakville budget since first being elected and knows where the money goes. He has seen firsthand where costs are rising and where savings are possible. As Mayor, he will be honest about what is driving costs, challenge wasteful spending, and work hard to find real savings while protecting the services residents rely on.

MidTown Development

People choose Oakville because it feels like a town, not a big city, and that is worth protecting. Jeff has shaped development decisions on Oakville Council for decades, despite the Town’s increasingly limited authority under provincial rules. As Mayor, he will ensure growth strengthens Oakville, reduces impacts on existing residents, and properly prepares services and infrastructure to Protect Our Town for generations to come.

Standing Up for Oakville

Many of the biggest pressures facing Oakville today come from outside the town. That will not change, but how Oakville responds can. Jeff has spent his career gaining the experience needed to navigate those pressures responsibly, enhance public input, leverage the collective strength of Council, stand up for local interests, and help shape what comes next to Protect Our Town and preserve what makes Oakville special.

Better Transit for Oakville

Oakville needs better transit, but taxpayers also deserve better value. Jeff's plan pursues both goals together — improving service, reliability and convenience while reducing the subsidy required for every passenger trip. As Mayor, he will demand real performance data, grow ridership, and make sure senior governments pay their fair share of major transit infrastructure.

Open Oakville

Oakville belongs to its residents, and government works best when decisions are made in the open. Jeff will bring forward a practical Lobbyist Registry and restore meaningful Citizens Advisory Committees so residents have a real seat at the table again. As Mayor, he is committed to being open by default, engaged from the beginning, and accountable for the outcome.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Oakville is a great place to live, but it needs to become a better place to do business. Jeff founded Encore Cinemas, which became Film.Ca Cinemas, and knows firsthand what it takes to make payroll and navigate government approvals. As Mayor, his commitment is simple: Red Carpet, Not Red Tape — for major employers and first-time small business owners alike.

E-Scooters & Micromobility

E-scooters are showing up around schools, on sidewalks and throughout Oakville’s neighbourhoods — and Ontario’s rules already prohibit anyone under 16 from riding one. Jeff’s plan protects kids now through education, school policies and practical enforcement, keeps e-scooters off ordinary sidewalks, and makes sure Oakville gets the provincial pilot decision right, based on evidence.

Data Centres

The hyperscale data centre concept discussed for Oakville would have needed more than three times the electrical capacity Oakville Hydro has available. Jeff will not support hyperscale data centres in Oakville. He supports appropriately scaled commercial facilities that fit our planning framework, while protecting neighbourhoods, taxpayers and the capacity Oakville needs for future homes, businesses and jobs.

I am running to be your Mayor because after 25 years of serving Oakville, I know what is at stake. I know what this community is capable of. And I believe I have the experience, energy, and determination to lead Oakville into its next chapter.

Jeff Knoll

"

I've been listening to Oakville residents for 25 years. When you tell me your concerns, I don't just hear them. I remember them and I act on them."
